Fullerton Park LUSC -
Away Travel Service
Please take a little time to read through these notes . . . . . . . . .
Our aim is to give Members a personal service and an enjoyable day out at the same time. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that Leeds will necessarily win any games you choose to go to ! Any profit made out of one trip is used to cover any losses on other trips, so nobody is being paid a wage by us, other than of course the coach company’s driver ! Leeds United away games first became “all-ticket” on a regular basis 20+ years ago as a means to combating hooliganism. Being able to book our tickets in blocks means we can keep Members together as far as possible, which has a safety as well as social benefit. However there are a few rules, and indeed some actual laws, which it is essential that you know about.
Who is in charge?
Keith Gaunt is our Travel Organiser, assisted by John Brannan our Treasurer. They are responsible to the Branch Committee, the Supporters Club and, not least, Leeds United. They are not paid to do this and, like all of us, are only volunteers. They try to give everyone a professional service, but don’t claim to be perfect. They do need your help and co-operation at all times.
Bookings.
We can only accept bookings if you have a current Season Branch Membership Card and also a valid Leeds United Members Club Card. We need your LUMC Customer Number to include on our Leeds United ticket order sheet.
Ticket Orders.
Since 2005-2006, Leeds United divided the Season’s matches up into groups in fixture date order. To guarantee that everyone gets a ticket we have to file our ticket orders for several games at a time. This system applies to all fans ordering tickets, first come, first served. We also have to pay for your ticket when ordering, just as if you were buying it yourself and so we may ask you for a deposit. For certain games we can “add-on” to our original order unless the total allocation is particularly “tight”. Tickets are posted out by the Leeds United Ticket Office direct to your address recorded on LUMC records. Despatch dates can vary according to when the Club we are due to visit sends Leeds United their allocation. Once tickets start to “land” Members tend to alert each other, but if there is less than 5 days to go please give Keith a call immediately, as he also receives a list confirming just who has been sent a ticket. Under this method there is NO CANCELLATION, so please, be sure of the match-date when ordering.
Coach Travel.
We cannot afford to run our coaches at a loss so normally it is assumed when ordering a ticket you will use the Branch Coach. (We can’t exist as simply a ticket agency for Leeds United away games!) For reasons of economy we try to match the vehicle size requested as closely as possible to how many of us are travelling. On rare occasions the date and kick-off time for some very long distance games may mean that it is cheaper for us to travel with another LUSC Branch for reasons of cost. We also realise that genuine emergencies can occur and Members cannot travel.
PLEASE ring Keith (at home if the day before) or if on the day on his Mobile 07799 208347. Even alarm clocks do fail sometimes! Alternatively, call ANY other Member you know to be travelling as this saves EVERYBODY any unnecessary inconvenience or at worst missing the kick-off.
Should you forget the departure time, then you can ring our Information Line, Leeds (0113) 277 7786. Please do not leave any messages on the Information Line. This is only an “outbound” information service. Messages may not be picked up for hours or even on the same day as the coach’s scheduled departure time.
